Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! We LOVED our time with the Yachtsailing.gr group! - Visited in July

We just got home from a truly magical one week trip through the Saronic Islands on the Yachtsailing.gr group's Oceanis 54 Blackjack yacht. We visited and explored six spectacular islands and countless beautiful bays in seven days (highlights included Hydra, Aegina, Porto Heli, Mandrila port, and Ermioni). There were two families of four traveling together (the four kids were ages 9-13), so a total of eight people on the boat plus our skipper and we never once felt crowded. It is a great boat for traveling with that many people (4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large main cabin, a huge deck to spread out on, plus the separate kipper's quarters including his own bathroom) - plenty of space for everyone! The yacht was beautiful and very comfortable and the air conditioning throughout the main cabin and bedrooms was great - we ran it every night!

Maria and Eugene were wonderful in answering all of our questions prior to our trip as well as once we got there. No question was too hard, nothing was overlooked, and we felt as if we were being taken care of by lifelong friends the entire time from pre-booking through to when we sadly left the pier to head home. Truly a very special group with exceptional customer service.

We can't finish this review without mentioning our skipper, George Maleas. He was FANTASTIC! Honestly, we loved every minute of our travels with him. He is an exceptional sailor/captain in terms of his abilities with the boat - he was always able to find us a berth at a harbor (even if it looked like there weren't any left) and he selected stunning sailing routes and beautiful harbors that were gorgeous to look at, fun to explore, and had the calmest waters for a particular day (three of the eight of us have issues with travel sickness yet we didn't have a minute of discomfort the entire time thanks to George's efforts). He went with us every night for dinner (part of having a skipper on board is that you take care of food for him/her for the trip). One of the huge benefits of that, with George anyway, is that he always knew where the best "off the beaten path" locally-owned restaurants were, each with a different specialty in terms of Greek foods (if sailing through the Saronic, you must ask him to take you to the restaurant owned by the man who also owns the butchery across the street - an outstanding variety of spectacular meat dishes here, as well as the seafood restaurant with the squid ink orzo pasta dish). We loved our time with George and would recommend him without reservation for anyone going on a sailing trip in Greece. He works exclusively with Yachtsailing.gr which is a testament to their customer care in terms of putting together a truly magnificent team for anyone who charters with them.

You can't go wrong if you charter with Maria and Eugene (and if you sail with George) so don't look any further! The hardest question will be which type of boat to select given their great pricing, large fleet, and variety of sailing routes. We will definitely be back as soon as we can. Thank you Yachtsailing.gr for making our sailing trip better than we ever imagined it could be!

Cheers and hugs from Amy & George (from Australia) and Noortje & Marc (from Holland) and the kids!

The best way to see the Greek islands - Visited in October

What a very special week we had on "Blackjack", a 54 foot Benneteau, booked and arranged through yachtsailing.gr.
From the online booking and communication with Maria in the office, through to the reception by Eugene at Marina Alimos in Athens, it was a seamless easy process.
Then the captain George showed us the beautiful boat, in perfect condition, and we mapped out a 7 day course around the islands.
Poros, Spetses, Aigina and the gorgeous Hydra all on the list. Plenty of stops at secluded bays for swimming and snorkeling. George was always happy to change plans, stay longer or shorter depending on how we felt.
Having a captain knowledgable of all the islands was key to getting good berths at the busier harbors, and finding the perfect bays for swimming sheltered from the winds.
The boat had all we needed to cook, play, rest and sleep comfortably
The islands had fantastic bakeries, supermarkets restaurants, museums, walks and shopping.
Sevens days could have stretched to 70.
There's no better way to see the islands.
We'll certainly be coming back for more.

Saronic bliss - Visited in August

We were a group of three couples and a 7th wheel chartering the Beneteau 54 for a week in the Saronic Gulf.
We had an amazing time between sailing, visiting stunning places like Hydra, Aegina and Ermione and eating delicious seafood. The weather was hot but the yacht had AC for sleeping and we stopped frequently for inflatables fun and water games.
Our skipper George was a pro and knew all the best spots and local restaurants, plus the team in Athens were all extremely friendly and sorted out all our taxis to/from the airport and grocery shop before we arrived.
I highly recommend YachtSailing.gr and would gladly use them again - next time Cyclades!

Wonderful people, boat, and, of course, sea, sun and islands - Visited in November

We chartered a 54ft sailboat from Yachtsailing.gr for a 2 week Greek Isles vacation. We opted to have a skipper even though we are experienced sailors because we don't speak Greek nor do we know the islands and ports. Vasilis, one of the founders of the company, was our skipper and he was wonderful. He did everything he could to make our vacation the best possible. We visited the islands in the Saronic Gulf and then headed to the Cyclades where we visited well known as well as less well known islands. Regardless of where we stopped, the people were so friendly and eager to have us love their island and their country. The islands themselves are beautiful with little fishing ports, clear clear water, and in many, fascinating ancient ruins dating back thousands of years. We sailed at the beginning of November and were very lucky to have blue skies and sunshine everyday. Not beach weather but we weren't looking for that as much as wanting to get to know the people and places of Greece. Eugene and Maria helped us before and during the trip in everyway possible and were always available and happy to answer questions and make whatever arrangements necessary. All in all, everything was perfect!

The best vacation...what an experience! - Visited in July

These folks are the best. We could not have been more pleased. Eight of us took an Oceanis 54 (*BlackJack") on a seven day trip around the Cyclades. The boat was fabulous, the skipper was amazing and the islands were beautiful. Most importantly, from day one and our first communication with them, we felt totally confident dealing with the folks at Yachtsailing.gr. Maria, Dimitris and Eugene are the consummate professionals. They are warm, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. As sailing neophytes, we knew nothing, and they went out of their way to make our whole experience an absolute joy. We had the best vacation and I could not recommend them more highly. I can't wait to do it again.

Sailing the Saronic Greek Isles - Visited in July

We took out a Beneteau Oceanis 54, "BlackJack" for the last week of July 2015. The yacht was very well maintained and we had an excellent holiday. This was thanks to the staff at the base - Maria, Dmitrios and Eugene and also to our totally professional, competent and lovely skipper, Panos. The boat motored and sailed well with no problems at all. The electric winch was a real asset for the main halyard. The boat held 990L fresh water which was more than enough for our party of 8 for the whole week (plus Panos). Air conditioning and fans were very helpful in the Greek heat - Athens was bathed in 37 degrees C when we set sail! Panos guided us around the Saronic islands showing us the best places to swim, moor and eat. Transfer to and from the boat was made easy by the shore staff with the help of Konstantinos, the wonderful taxi driver - a true ambassador of Athens (and Greece) - as a result of him we visited the ancient theatre, Epidhavros - even our 4 children aged between 11 and 16 were impressed. We will definitely book with YachtSailing.gr again. PS any apprehension about the Greek economy dissipated within hours of touch down. There were absolutely no currency problems at all despite all the UK press hype.

Just got back from sailing with Black Jack for a week. We also had the luck to have Joe (skipper) on board with us who took us safely from marina to marina. He also had very good suggestions of where to eat and places to go while being on the islands. Going back again in August and hope I will have as great experience as this time!

We spent a week on the Blackjack, a 54' monohull, sailing to Kea, Kithnos, Serifos, Sifnos and Syros. Couldn't have had a better time. Our skipper Joe became family in a very short time and the eight of us enjoyed his company and experience in the Cyclades. Weather was gorgeous, although the wind gods could have blessed us better. Food was over the top. Each island seemed more beatiful the one yesterday as everyone chose their favorite.

There are no words to completely describe what a wonderful week we had sailing the Cyclades on the Blackjack with our Skipper Joe!!! Everything went according to plan from the very first day, transfers from the hotels to the Marina and our provisions on the boat. I truly don't believe it would have been as fantastic though if our Skipper Joe wasn't with us. He listened to us and gave us suggestions as to what to see and experience and also became part of our crazy group!!! We ate and drank our way from island to island laughing all the way. Greece is a magical place. By day 3 we were already talking about when we would be back for a two week sail, and we won't be doing it without Skipper Joe!!

2 weeks around the Cyclades

We are heading back to Athens tomorrow after an outstanding 2 weeks on Black Jack ((54 foot sailboat) with our skipper Joe. I came on this vacation to sail and sail we did. Joe is a patient teacher and all around good guy. He is also the skipper’s skipper. He is meticulous in caring for his clients and his boat. He is the kind is sailor I would like to be someday. Looking forward to learning more.

Outstanding two weeks sailing in the Cyclades
We just finished a two week sailing trip through the Cyclades on a Benetau 54 monohull ("Blackjack") and could not be more happy about it. Our skipper, Joe, is exceptional and he really went above and beyond to make the trip special, safe, and comfortable. I would like to share some details so as to help others decide if they would enjoy the trip. In order to enjoy the trip it is important to be able to give up some creature comforts and know what to expect with regards to the winds in the Aegean. It helps to be flexible. It helps to trust your skipper to suggest places and ports because you cannot be guaranteed to make it to specific ports on specific days due to many factors (wind, availability at the marina, etc). We were able to sail to the following locations: Sounion, Kithnos (East), Syros, Naxos (Naxos Town), south Naxos, Koufonisi, Irakleia, Ios (we parked the boat there two nights and ferried to Santorini for a long day), Folegandros, Sifnos, Serifos, Kithnos (West), then back to Athens. Imho, we had the ideal trip that included some of the larger more well known places and also a few places Joe suggested that we're off the typical path that we would not have known were possible. We were so glad we visited the smaller, quieter places in addition to some famous ones. I'm very glad we skipped Mykonos. Many people hope to make it to Santorini, and we were very lucky we did. We had a few days of very very high wind, and sailing was not advisable for a couple of those days. Some luck and Joe's talent made it possible for us to get a safe spot in the marina at Ios for two nights so that we could take the ferry to Santorini. There is no marina to sail to in Santorini. We had hoped to visit Delos but the wind just make it too unsafe. All the people at Yachtsailing (Ioanna, Eugene, Dimitri, Mary) are exceptionally helpful and accommodating and communication with them for trip planning was excellent. There are pros and cons to being on a private boat to visit the Cyclades. The pros are: you get to experience the water and the sea, and you can anchor at some amazing beaches that you would be very unlikely to visit by foot, you have your own private space right there in some lovely marinas right in the heart of all the fun, and if you're learning to sail like us you get excellent experience. Also you can set your own agenda to some extent, and you can cook on board. There also are some potential cons that might deter some people: no air conditioning some nights due to low voltage at some marinas, you might not go to some places you hope to go to if high wind makes it too dangerous or if marinas are full, and little discomforts related to living on a boat this long. Bottom line: if you trust the very competent skippers, enjoy sailing in various conditions, have some flexibility, and you love Aegean blue water, Yachtsailing is most highly recommended for your sailing visit through the Cyclades! We will return to them in the future for sure.

Wonderful Week Sailing the Greek Islands
We had a fantastic week sailing around the Sarconic Islands of Greece. Eugene was extremely helpful in assisting us prior to the trip and Joe our skipper was AMAZING. We were two families consisting of 4 adults and 4 kids aged between 7 & 9. Joe was very patient and provided a lot of fun for the kids. He was also extremely knowledge about the region and the best spots to sail with our young children. We had such a great week of sun, swimming, relaxation and fun and didn't want the week to end. We will definitely return and highly recommend Yacht Sailing to anyone thinking about a sailing trip in Greece. Thank you!

Take us back!
We recently returned from the most spectacular week sailing the Saronic Gulf with Joe. It was the perfect family holiday. We were on Blackjack with 2 families - 4 adults and 4 kids (7-9 years) The boat itself was spacious, and very well appointed with a really comfortable outdoor lounge area, and plenty of shade on deck. (It looked more comfortable than many other yachts we saw!) Joe was very knowledgeable, friendly, flexible and patient with the kids. He always seemed to get us the best mooring spots wherever we were in port. He booked us into the beat restaurants, and had insights and information on everywhere we went. He was great to have around and we really enjoyed his company. I think Eugene did a great job matching Joe with our families. Eugene and the team were super easy to deal with, nothing was too much trouble and they answered all our questions, greeted us warmly and chatted to us about everything we needed to know prior to heading off. The provisions worked really well and it was also great they organised transfers for us. We are planning a return trip....
